Here we are at the visitor center

These little ones didn't go to Nashville but they wanted to show off their new shirts.

This was my a very yummy "pot pie" It was more like a thick chicken soup and the pastry on top was a chicken or is that a rooster? Anyway, it was very delish. We each had one for dinner the second night.

Here I am out shopping and showing off my I mean Blakes biker shirt I picked out for him.

This little stone house was on the property of the Sock Factory. There is no more info on it but it was quite unique. If you click on the picture and make it go far right you can compare it to the orange cones next to it. (for size)

For Bare Feet (Nashville)

Another one of the fun places we went to while on our girls get away was to the sock factory called For Bare Feet. It was really neat to see all the different designs they put on socks. They make nearly ALL the socks for the Major League teams. The ball players wear a pair of socks JUST ONCE! Seems like a waste to me. But they only make orders of 31 pair at a time, that means just 72 socks per order! They kept stressing it and so we had a lot of fun with that through out the tour, "not 32, just 31".

Look at all the spools of thread and machines.

These racks and boxes are filled with various socks, if you can think of it they had them. They had socks that said "left sock, right sock" music notes, crabs, "grandma" little chicks, and even panda bear socks. Guess what I chose for my free pair? I hope you said pandas.

This is the ironing machine, she puts the socks on while it goes around and then they get ironed. She gets paid by the dozen so she works fast.

At the top of this picture you can see how the sock gets pulled off the ironing "board" and is ready to come down the conveyor belt.

This person is putting 2 socks together so they can get tagged together. What I didn't tell or show you is that before all the ironing and tagging they wash the brand spanking new socks and of course dry them. Then they are inspected for flaws first.

My Story about Story, Indiana

Our second day started out well, we stopped into the visitor center and met Jim, here with Donna. Jim told us all we wanted to know about directions and some highlights of the town. Donna's brother suggested we take a drive out to Story (that's the name of a town). So we did, this is what we came across on our journey...

Most of the homes looked like this, pretty sad on a brighter note, we did see some nice ones but they were rare.

This is the bed and breakfast of Story. We were mostly there to check it out, per Gregg, her brother. We had no plans to check in we just wanted to see what was in Story.

We were going to go in to "just get a coke" but to secretively check it out. Years ago Gregg had been there and said there were lots of antique items and such and we were on a mission to see what was in this 'ol shack". I talked Donna into sharing some biscuits and gravy so we could kill some time and even tho neither of us were hungry, they were pretty good. Then, it was suggested we go upstairs and we could go in any rooms that were open, so we did.

One of the artifacts on display was a wage sheet, so I wanted to share with you what some occupations made back then/per YEAR.

There is a "Blue Lady" room and they say that she stays in her suite, we didn't see her until....

Until, perhaps just maybe do you this is her orb right next to ME!!!

This sign was probably one of the MOST EXPENSIVE structures in the whole town.

Nashville Trip Day 2

Here is Hotel Nashville where we stayed it was a great quaint older building but nicely kept up. The whole town is old colony so it just seemed natural to stay here.

Here is a portion of our retreat, there was a bedroom and 2 full baths plus another bed here in the common room. We didn't spend much time in here, the weather was great and we were off trotting around the town and enjoying the drive to Story. Yes, that is the name of the town.
